Kuwait

After about 24 hours of travel time (flying, waiting in terminals, etc.), we arrived in Kuwait. We will be here for nearly two weeks. It is hot, sandy, with more heat and a little (no, a lot) more sand. I wish I could describe how it looks. There are no trees, no grass, no vegetation at all. There is just sand. We have had a sandstorm for two days now. I feel like a bit player in an old Foreign Legion film.

I don’t have the capability to post pictures yet. When I do, I’ll be sure to put some up of the beautiful surroundings.

I did see two herds of camels on the drive in, though. That was fun.

Blessings…

  1. So you are the reason for the dust storms. They just started the day you got here, really. I miss the USA. Here there is trash everywhere. People here clean their car by throwing the trash just on the ground outside their car. I can’t stand it.

I do have to say if you go to the saloon it is less expensive. I would make sure that they are disinfecting their appliances. Also check out the 0.100 kd store. Kuwait is ok if you have money. My husband’s family is from here. It is interesting being an American Female in a Kuwaiti Family. There are good and bad in my situation. Just try to look at the benefits.

  2. We watched Hidalgo last night and thought of you in the desert. I don’t know if that is what it looks like but if it is even close I don’t want to go there!

I hope you are able to celebrate the 4th in some way. Missing you terribly!
